Over the last few years I have been writing a few reviews for a number of different publications. I am definitely not a writer but I have been really enjoying this process. Mainly because the reviews or content, that I have been producing, are always associated with the activities that I love to do in my spare time.

Most recently I have been helping a friend, Joey, with some gear reviews on her amazing outdoor gear review website, www.coolofthewild.com.

I love writing these reviews. It has made me realise that I am most definitely a gear geek! I guess when you spend so much of your time doing one thing, not only do you become very experienced in it but you also become extremely knowledgeable in all things to do with it.

So getting to try out new gear and geeking out about how well, or badly, it delivers on what it is supposed to do, gets me stoked! I have ended up deep diving on all the tech and features that are laid out to us by the brands. Is this fit for purpose? Does it keep me warm? Is it comfortable after 2 hours of running in it? Is it a must have item of gear?

I has been entertaining me through the summer months and gives me some top trade insights when I need to purchase my next new gear item. If you ask me nicely when we are on the chair lift I might just let you in on a few top tips.
